Criminals are very active online to steal sensitive information and make financial gains. We provide you with tips to learn how to protect your cards and personal information when shopping online:

  1. Keep your browsers updated.
Update your operating system and browser. Download security patches and updates which include the latest security features. It is better to configure automatic updates in your operating system and browser application so you receive the latest software as soon as it's released.

  2. Block pop-ups
Set your browser preferences to block pop-ups as they may contain malicious content.

  3. Only Shop on Sites that use HTTPS
Accessing websites that use HTTPS instead of plain HTTP means that your data is secured and transferred over an encrypted connection, and nobody else can intercept the connection.

  4. Be Careful Who You Shop with
Shop on sites you trust; many websites are fake and used to commit fraud. If you don't know the website you are visiting, search the internet for the integrity of that website before using your cards.

  5. Type the website's URL yourself
Pay attention to the URLs you visit and ensure the website name is typed correctly. Criminals use malicious hyperlinks inside emails to fool clients into visiting fake websites. Instead of clicking on hyperlinks in emails or short messages, type the address (URL) into your browser.

  6. Stop saving your credit card data in the browser
Autofill is a browser feature that prompts you to fill in your card details for easy access and use. Keeping credit card information saved in your web browser is a security concern; If your computer is accessed by someone else, your card data can be stolen.

  7. Avoid public WiFi
Avoid shopping online using public WiFi networks such as coffee shops, airports and hotels.

  8. Control your credit card's exposure on the internet
Use iBank service panel to control your card limits on the internet. Once you are done with the purchase, it is recommended that you disable your card usage on the internet.

  9. Frequently Check Your Credit Card Statements
Review your account and credit card statements on iBank as often as possible. If you have any concerns, please call the Contact Center to deactivate your card until you investigate the suspicious transactions.
